Galaxy Casino, one of the largest casino operators from Las Vegas, opened a multi-billion casino complex last Sunday in the largest casino gaming market in the world, the Galaxy Macau.

Macau is a Chinese enclave that has become the biggest gambling city in the world in recent years. At the sound of fireworks and the traditional Chinese lion dance, officials christened the newest casino of Galaxy Entertainment Group, while thousands of customers were waiting for a gamble. The casino has 450 gambling tables and room for 1,500 slot machines and is the only casino scheduled for this year. The building with a value of over $1.9 billion and has room for a pool of 4,000 m2 and an artificial beach. Tropical and Japanese gardens, a Japanese tea house, a Scottish-themed whiskey bar, 50 restaurants, a private members' club and a shopping entertainment are other attractions that will attract people. The opening of the 34th Macau casino comes at a time when the city is trying to vary their offerings.

The revenues of the casinos in Macau have been improved by high-rollers that visit the casino enclave from mainland China. Macau's economy has boomed since the casino monopoly was broken in 2002, and paved the way for American and Australian casino operators to be allowed to the market with local partners. Monthly casino revenues so far in 2011 has grown by at least 33 percent, after an increase of over 50% last year to $23.5 billion. In contrary to the Las Vegas Strip in 2010, who earned $5.8 billion in revenue. Unlike Vegas, Macao has few attractions where no gambling is involved. Lui Che-woo, a boardmember of Galaxy said: "We are happy to follow the Macau government's development strategy and build new momentum not driven by gaming culture."
