Gambling is often a way of relaxing and a sane entertainment but not for all. In this short article we describe people using gambling games for damaging the other players or the casino itself. We have to distinguish different kinds of tricks. The first one is the “delayed bet†used by the cheater to place his bet on one of the winning numbers by taking advantage from the table crowding and escaping the dealer’s vigilance. This is a practice which is usually used with American and British roulettes especially when the winning numbers on the table are far from the dealer’s view. The second technique is called “shifting poussette†and consists in moving a chip wagered by another player, making it sliding on another position. If this last number is winning, the cheater will pocket the win. Otherwise, there will be a contention for the resulting loss. The third trick is the “covered poussette†which consists in waiting for the dealer’s to announce the bets are closed (“rien ne va plusâ€) for then placing two chips (one smaller and one bigger) on the table. Once the dealer doesn’t accept the cheater bet, he/she takes advantage of the table crowding and removes with great skills only the bigger chip, leaving the smaller one on the table, called by his partner who will collect the win.
