This weekend was a bad weekend for any poker loving player in the world. This weekend Amir Vahedi passed away. He died from Diabetes complications on Jan 8. 2010. Amir Vehedi was a very famous pokerplayer and he was loved by his fellow pro's.
He is well know for his six place finish in the Worlds Series of Poker 2003 in the Main Event. The Pokerboom started in 2003 so that gave him alot of attention. People will allways remember him as a man who liked sigars and his willingness to gamble.
He also made a lot of other good results in the Poker world. He won over 3.1 million Dollars. Besides his 2003 main-event run, which earned him $250,000, some of Vahedi’s career highlights include his 2003 WSOP bracelet win for $270,000 in a $1,500 no-limit hold’em event, a win in a $1,500 event at the 2005 Los Angeles Poker Classic for $446,292, and a win in the televised Ultimate Poker Challenge in 2005 for $181,390.
