Today the "real" WSOP starts and the kickoff couldn't be any better. The first event of the WSOP is the $40k event. The 40k event is to honor the 40 years of existence of the WSOP in Las Vegas. The field of the WSOP 40k event will not the the biggest of the tournament but it will be one of the strongest fields during the WSOP. There will be alot of strong players in the field and the field will be compairable with the 50k HORSE event in Sin City.

The main question also this year is who will be the big winner at the WSOP. Will it be the young hotshots of the internet or will it be the older players. Will Phill Hellmuth win his 12th WSOP Bracelet or will Doyle Brunson and Johhny Chan catch up with the Poker Brat. Maybe this year it will be the year of the pokerplayers from the UK. The UK players have alot of talent in them and we hope they win some Bracelets. There are also alot of side bets running during the WSOP. Normally the players make more money winning the side bets then winning a bracelet so these side bets are always fun to keep track of.

This year we will see if Scotty Nguyen stops with Poker. In a drunken mood he told the camera's that if he wouldn't earn more then $4 million during this WSOP he would stop playing Poker. Offcourse we know he wont quit poker ever it's intresting how the pokerworld will react if he doesnt make the $4 million.

The next month will be a good month for the poker in the world. With the WSOP going on there will be alot of Poker.
