If you know how to make a proper value bet you can make ALOT of money instead of a little bit of money. With a Value bet yoo do exactly what you want: you make a bet that is designed to increase the value of the pot.

When you want to make aproper value bet you have to consider the following information about the opponents you are playing:

The Strength of their hand

The strength ofyour opponents hands is very important. The stronger their hand the morewilling they want to call your bet. If u have the nuts and your opponent has the second nuts he will call more bets then when he has gotnothing.

Their view of your hand

If your opponent thinks thatyou have the nuts he almostdoesnt want to put any money in the pot. But if you make small bets in these kind of situations your opponents will call because they have good odds.

Can you opponent fold their hand

Some players are just not willing to fold a big hand. A player with this complex will call a very large value bet with a big pocket pair, even when it should be obvious that you have him beat.

On the other end of the scale, when your opponent is playing scared, he will have to be persuaded to put any money into the pot at all.

Natural limit how much they will call in 1 bet.

Most players have a build in threshold. That threshold limit how many chips they are willing to put into the pot. Most players use a percentage of their stack for this.

Simple example:

If the maximum threshold of a player is $50 and you bet $40 you will loose20% of the money because you lost $10. But if you bet$60 you will loose $50.

Money not made is money lost so think about ur bets.
