The Latin American Poker Tour of PokerStars.net has stated that season 2 of the poker tour, which started in November in the capital of Costa Rica, San Jose, will be the first event of a main event. The total happening consists of 6 events, which are held in Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina, in that order.
The starting event in Costa Rica will take place from 3 to 5 November at the Ramada Plaza's Herradura Conference Centre, based in San Jose. The main event will have a 3,500 dollar buy-in plus 200 dollars for the casino. This is the same sum for all the LAPT main events, except for the season-ending championship of LAPT. The final stop will be held in April next year, and has a 5000 dollar buy-in with 200 dollars for the casino. An online participant won the first LAPT last year in San Jose. The man goes by the name Valdemar Kwaysser. He defeated 397 opponents, before winning the LAPT. He stated that he was so overwhelmed with the hit of the first LAPT season, that he wanted to come back with a second season right away, making it a nice tourist attraction. Poker players from all around the world will go to Latin America for the championship poker, and not just solely Latin Americans.
