Playtech signs deal with Scientific Games

One of the biggest online casino software developers worldwide, Playtech has announced that it has concluded a strategic agreement with industry leader in state lotteries, technology and prepaid cards, Scientific Games Corporation. The aim of the cooperation is to jointly develop a new generation of Internet casinos and land casino products and services to offer to regulated casino operators.

This partnership combines Playtech’s leading B2B gaming software and extensive portfolio of products with the proven ability of Scientific Games to add value to turnkey solutions for government sponsored gambling(B2G) in regulated and in soon to be regulated jurisdictions. Scientific Games and PlayTech entered a 50:50 joint venture to offer the latest modern technology to government-funded and government-regulated lottery operators, including the U.S. state lotteries, under the brand name: Sciplay. The cooperation will enable Sciplay to offer the customer a wide range of casino games and gaming solutions, in accordance with the various laws that may apply. Sciplay will have exclusive worldwide rights to the internet technology by Playtech. Richard Weil, former president of Fun Technologies is appointed as Executive Director of Sciplay. Scientific Games and PlayTech have also agreed to launch a strategic partnership with regard to both fixed odds betting (FOBT) and video lottery (VLT) terminals and system development. The significant long-term cooperation would generate shareholders value and improve the growth prospects for both Playtech and Scientific Games.
